review 1: Eck! It over. Thank god! I wanted so badly to believe that maybe it was just a phase and that's why I didn't enjoy previous books. The blurbs sound so good, but the writing is just not for me. I can't say it's terrible, because honestly, it takes so much courage to write a novel and put it out there for others to read. Many people loved it, obviously; for me it was just bad. I was not a fan of the writing style...it was just begging for it to be over. Now that it is, and the authors writing style has not changed, I don't think I can read anymore of the series, which is just sad, because it seems very intriguing. But I know me, and I know it will frustrate me to no end, so, I'm done. Done with the series and done with the author. I wish her well and no hard feelings,..just... more not my type of book.
review 2: frequently when reading drama-laden romances I find myself slamming my head against a wall mentally yelling at the characters "talk to your boyfriend!!!". Melissa Foster has found the perfect balance, for me, of kooky mishaps/miscommunication while still letting her characters be believable, respectable human beings. They misinterpret something, but actually talk to one another to straighten it out, and while they may not answer their phones every time (allowing for the misunderstanding to go on an extra day) eventually they do and it didn't require some ridiculous grand gesture. less

As much as I enjoyed the first in this series, I really struggled with this one.
