Judgement of the Six
review 1: I am beginning to embrace the Judgment of the Six series even though I am still not a fan of the author's writing style. "(Mis)fortune" is a nice addition to the series. Before I begin my review I need to warn you that if you are like me an expect books that end with a cliffhanger to bring some closure or understanding in the next book you will be disappointed. I don't know why the author chose to write these two books out of sequence and leaves us hanging. I do know that it is not clever but annoying and disappointing. With that being said let me discuss what I did enjoy, the plot and the characters. Michelle has been held captive for the past four years along with her two younger step-brothers. Her captor is a business partner of her father's named Blake. He is mean and a... morebusive. Now he is bringing over ten men once a week that he insists Michelle allow them to sniff her. After Michelle talks back to him he grabs her by the throat and off the floor. Michelle's step-father leaves an envelope under her door with money, keys, and instructions. She and her brothers go on the run. After driving for 36 hours Michelle is exhausted and decides to stop for food. Several of Blake's men try to seize her but a handsome stranger named, Emmitt, comes to their aid. He follows her to make sure she's safe. He also allows her to rest while watching the boys. Enmity talks Michelle into following him to him family's home. Although she is reluctant she agrees.Slowly Michelle begins to let down her guard with Emmitt, his brother and Nani. However, won Emmitt reveals his own secret, she is tempted to run. I enjoyed this story and felt the slowly building relationship between Michelle and Enmity was great. I also enjoyed the supporting characters as well. I just hope the next book is not out of sequence.
review 2: I read the first book and I loved it!!! I couldnt put it down, as soon as I finished the first book I jumped right into this one. Michelle is 19 year old woman on the run with her 2 younger brothers, while on the run she gets saved by Emmitt. Emmitt offers to help them and even offers them a place stay where they will be safe. Not having anywhere else to go, Michelle and her brothers go with him. Michelle is also special, she gets premonitions and her powers start to change after she touches Emmitt. When she finds out that Emmitt is too a werewolf she freaks out this whole time shes been trying to get away from werewolves and shes being helped by them. Michelle has alot of trust issues and she has her reasons to be, with everything she went through. She is very brave and loves her brothers, she is like their mom, she has always been there for them. I loved this story it was great!! I loved Gabby's and Clay story more. I loved how Emmitt won Michelle's heart, even knowing she was his mate, he took his time, did not push her. I did get kinda slow during the book a bit, we did get some action towards the end. I was hoping to get Gabby and Clay is this story too, maybe Michelle meeting her or something. But I cant wait to read the next one!! Really loved this series. :) less
