review 1: What a bizarre book. I read lots of children's books these days (it's my job), but this one really takes the cake. I've seen the movie Tangled, on which this is based, and I know that in Tangled the plot doesn't involve a wide-eyed simpleton going on an epic quest... to look at colors. In this book that's all that happens. She bumbles around and gets amazed by pretty colors. There are actual stills from the movie, stills which evoke the movie's plot, but the words are reduced to merely listing all the colors on the page. In the climax she sees, like, seven colors at once! Scintillating! I felt like I was in a mental institution while reading this, and my kids were rendered speechless.
review 2: I am actually excited for this the new Disney movie "Tangle
... mored". It looks like my little girl is too --- or she just loves anything illustrated that looks like it may be a princess. (Look at that castle in the background!) She picked up this book tonight at the grocery store. :o)This book has great illustrations. But - to me & my daughter - the wording needs a little help. Some of the pages seem to be telling a story, but others are just stating the colors & objects - instead of forming a fluid sentence to follow. After a couple of those pages - my daughter actually said, "Why does this book not sound right?" She did enjoy the illustrations a lot though - and I think - if we read it more -- I will embellish it a bit to make it a little bit more exciting for her too. less

A good starter book for a new reader. A few difficult words, but she did well with it
