Murder at the Brightwell 3 (Chapter 9)

SPOILERS!!!

Amory discreetly tries to find out what the others thinks. First, she talks to the actor, Lionel Blake, as she accompanies him to the village. Amory brings up the murder and Rupert, but Lionel clams up. Apparently, he was sitting on the terrace that afternoon, but when Amory asks him if he had seen Rupert walk onto the terrace, the man doesn’t say a word, which Amory thinks is quite meaningful.

Another guest she talks to is Larissa Hamilton, who saw Rupert briefly that afternoon. The man told her that he had a meeting, but she understood that the meeting was with his fiancée, Emmeline, for tea. What surprises Amory is that Larissa thinks that his murder was a shock, but she isn’t surprised that he was murdered. I think that this woman knows more than she lets on. The problem is that she is a bit apprehensive of her husband. I wonder if they have something to hide in connection with Rupert.
