review 1: This was a feel-good book perfect for a cozy Sunday afternoon read. If you have ever lived in a small town, the attitudes of the community in this book were right on. In a world of suspicion of strangers and doing anything different this book hit on the fear we all have of change and acceptance. It is the perfect read for Christmas, giving us an insight into expanding our compassion. We all have things inside of us that need healing. Perhaps some might see this book as being whimsical with a fairytale character in Matilda, but in this Christmas Season of good will and peace it tells a story that we all need to hear about forgiveness, compassion and love.
review 2: I wasn't able to finish this book. The story was sweet, but it's been written a billion times bef... moreore. That doesn't usually bother me because normally there's something different, well there was in this book too. I'm not familiar with the author, or the publisher for that matter, maybe if I was I would have known that this is a Christian book. There was nothing in the description that gave it away and I felt blindsided when I was all of a sudden preached to about the forgiving power of God's love.Not what I was looking for and I will not be finishing. less
