review 1: This is a great book all around because it is a easy beginner book for children who are just starting to read and it also teaches children a really good lesson. This book is about a boy who ends up hitting his baseball into a yard where he was told lived a mean old lady. When he went to go get his ball a nice old lady answered the door and the little critter boy was confused why her house and yard looked so haunted but the lady living in the house was super nice. When the boy asked his dad he responded by saying that the old lady hasn’t been feeling very good so she cant do the work that needs to be done around her house. Right then the little boy and his sister came up with a plan called “Critters Who Care” and they decided to get a bunch of their friends together a... morend help out the lady with her yard. This book teaches kids how it is good to help the less fortunate and to give back to the community.
review 2: Another critters book that my kid's all loved. This one, my 5 yr old picked out of a stack of books for his prize for completing our local library summer challenge. Many of the others we had read already so when he saw the critters book, it was an easy choice. He read it to his younger brother's this morning. Only a level 1 reader, but a solid level one with a strong plot and fun story line. There's even a little lesson thrown in about helping others, something any parent can appreciate. Overall a great choice for a beginner reader. less
