Stories from Sapphire Cay
review 1: Scott Antonelli worked at Sapphire Cay alongside Dylan & Lucas. He is still nursing a broken heart after his former lover, Adam Ross, turned out to be a criminal and was sent to prison. Scott has had difficulty with trust since then. Imagine his surprise as Adam shows up to apologize to Scott and make amends. Scott’s first instinct is to run far from the man who told him lie after lie. However, there were also times of joy and happiness in that same six-month love affair. Scott is afraid to put his heart on the line again. Can he really believe that the Dylan has changed? Just like the prior two books, this book was straightforward. It is a story about trust and forgiveness, as well as the ability of people to change. This book was not as passionate as the prior two. May... morebe because we started from a point of anger and mistrust, but it was not as “sweet” as the other books. However, it was refreshing to see that Adam had learned his lesson and was willing to be patient for Scott to see the change. I also like the fact that Dominiq the cook was insightful and patient with both Adam and Scott. Scott and Adam, the college age lovers, did not have good communication skills, but now the adult men were able to express themselves honestly. I felt bad for both Scott and Adam, so I was happy they got another chance at love. This was a good installment into an enjoyable beach read. I have not had to regulate my blood pressure once during this series. The authors just helped me relax and unwind. This is reading with no stress! I felt satisfied after each book. Everything happened for a reason and things are as they should be. I would definitely read these authors again.
review 2: Trust is everything in a relationship and when Adam violated Scott's trust everything was shattered. Scott may have had good intentions but they led him to three years in jail which was his own personal hell. Scott took his horticulture degree and made a home lonely as it was on Sapphire Cay. Fate or dumb luck brought the two guys together again while Scott was on a restocking trip to Marsh Harbor and the rest was a very bumpy road to happiness. I liked both Adam and Scott as individuals and as a couple. The story moved along perfectly with the great tension between the two men. Dominiq was the perfect non-judgmental father figure that Adam needed to regain some of his confidence and land a spot on the resort's team. It was good to catch a glimpse of Edward and Jamie and the rest of the Cay's growing number of characters that love brought together. Although this book is the third in the Sapphire Cay series, I believe that it can be read as a stand alone. I recommend this story for anyone looking for a sweet, love story. less
