review 1: Collections of short stories are difficult to review because in themselves they have indivual impact. They also, somewhat like movies, are unable to develop characters with the power of a novel. With that said, Michael Connelly is probably the best mystery writer of my time and I thoroughly enjoyed this collection. His knowledge of police procedures and his cleverness with detective work are unequaled. So if you have an interest in sampling Michael Connelly's work, this is a great place to start.
review 2: Michael Connelly has swiftly become synonymous with great main stream crime fiction. His character of Harry Bosch is heavy laden with personal history and issues that make the character both intriguing and dark enough to keep being of interest. This collectio
... moren of three stories are really not much more than snippets and flashbacks into the LAPD officer’s past. I love reading short stories in general and am glad that Michael Connelly decided to give his fans something to ‘chew’ on in between the regular length novels. So far these short Bosch stories do not disappoint and are well worth the two dollars spent. If you’re a fan of MC, add them to your To-Read List now. less

Love anything Harry Bosch and these three cases, from various points in his long and storied career, didn't disappoint."Christmas Even" came about midway in Bosch's career and showed his loneliness, his vulnerability."Father's Day" was from later in his career and touched on his feelings as a father."Angle of Investigation" spanned the decades of his career and showed what made him Bosch.Highly recommended to all.
