review 1: The Safe Man is a departure from detective crime fiction for Michael Connelly. The story is about a legitimate safe cracker who opens a rare type of safe and unleashes something evil that could effect the future. The concept is the same as unleashing a genie without the wishes. Then he has to put the genie back in the bottle. He does this, but at the end I'm left with a number of questions. The first is can he stop the future? Will he agree to put a pool in his backyard for his wife? And finally, if he sees a ghost of his daughter from the future, why does she wear old fashioned clothes and not something futuristic.I am a really big Connelly fan and I thought the safe man was an interesting character who could have been written into a far more interesting crime novel. Perh... moreaps some day, Connelly will bring this fellow back with a more deserving story.
review 2: I think I have a new favorite ghost book. This book really impressed me, it's about a man who is called the box man, his job is to open safe locks. One time, he was called to go open a safe at a really famous writers house, he has never seen this kind of safe before because this safe is really old. The author that just moved in her, found out the safe was there and really wanted to open it. One day, the man named Brian (Box Man) went to go drill the safe. Once he got it open, he saw that this lock was never heard of. He saw a ghostly figure inside the box. On the same day Brian was about to remove the safe door. He saw a kid, a really small kid that seemed to be next to the safe. He seemed like he saw the kid before but his wife is just pregnant and didn't have the baby yet. That night, he had a strange dream of what he saw inside the safe door, same thing as the ghostly figure he saw. The next day, the police came and asked him strange questions. Read to find out what they asked and who that little girl was. Remember, this is a ghost book so there will be a big problem in here. less
