review 1: wow, one of the best books I have read in a while. The complex characters and plots vs. subplots keeps this book interesting to the end. This was a hard book to put down, and even found its way into my dreams a little bit. The violence is maybe too strong for some readers but makes the story more real. All you Star craft nerds out there, you 're going to love this one. "So has it been, so shall it always be. In Her Name."
review 2: I wrote this review on Amazon after first finishing the collection. I titled it "my new favorite author." One thing I would say after consuming the work, however. It took a lot out of me. It was like I was back in Fairbanks as a kid stuck in a cabin with no car to get to town reading Heinlein. I was truly in the land of the Kre
... moreelans. Transport isn't strong enough a word. This guy Hicks knows how to make writing appear easy. I'm so freaking jealous but at the same time totally happy he's doing it. I think back on my favorites from Phillip Jose Farmer and this ranks right up there with them. Powerful characters, strong plot, fast pace. Excellent material. less
