review 1: What this book has taught me is the difference between a decent editor and a great one. This story had the potential to be great, but it needed editing it clearly didn't receive. Someone to tear apart the awkwardness of the transitions, dialogue, and random characters and build it all back into a fluid, seamless storyline. What editing it was given just wasn't enough. Story-wise, I loved it and I only hope book 2 isn't as jarring of a read.
review 2: The general idea of the book was very good. I liked the idea of the virus taking over everything, but I don't think the author conveyed this idea in the right way. I had a problem with the love story involved in this book. I think it completely devalues the book. The romance is just very cliche and there and isn't
... moreany real point in it. I also had a problem with the main character. She was suppose to be this strong, bold, fearless girl, but then she would do things that completely derail this view of her. The whole romance makes her shallow. The characters were also very basic and extremely unmemorable. They had no specific traits to make you like or dislike them give or take a couple characters. The writing was just very basic and didn't make me feel anything. In the end, I finished the book not because it was good, but because I was just ready to get it over with so I could read something else. less
