Review: Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2) by Richelle Mead

Review:

Golden Lily was just as wonderful as I hoped it would be. The story picked up right around where Bloodlines left off. Sydney is still at the school in Palm Springs, and in charge of ensuring the safety of Jill, all the while she grows more and more unexpectedly attached to the vampires she was taught to dislike.

The plot thickened exponentially in this second addition. Sydney grows stronger in her new found magical abilities. And new enemies surface from the cracks that surprise everyone with their existence! Just when you think there can’t be anymore evil bad dudes to come after these characters, oh look there’s more!

Oh, and of course I didn’t forget about Adrian. Ohhhh Adrian….his character is so fantastic and confusing and frustrating and heartbreaking at the same time. It’s so difficult to watch the romantic frustration between him and Sydney, especially when the outcome on certain events is so predictable it was almost painful. By the end of the book, I was so ready for more to happen between them it was killing me. I just really want Adrain to be happy after everything he’s been through. And I’m sure my fellow readers can relate. I always fall for the damaged guys, it’s inevitable with these types of books.

Unfortunately, the ending made things amazing and so much worse at the same time  between the two of them. I wound up being more angry than when it started. Nonetheless, I have hope and can’t wait to read the next book! I would most definitely recommend that you continue reading the Bloodlines series and pick up this book!
