review 1: 3.5 stars. Paranormal isn't my favorite genre hence the reason for the stars but I wanted to find out what happens after reading the 2nd book in the kiss kiss box set. The story flowed perfectly and I didn't feel like the ending was rushed. It did get a little confusing towards the end a lot of information to remember but the author did explain it afterwards. Some things were shocking and mind blowing.
review 2: The author, Michelle Warren, starts the book with the warning that this must be read as a part of the series as it can't stand alone. Me, not often able to follow directions, decided to read it as a stand-alone and was pleasantly surprised. Although I agree that this fits best in the series, the story starts out at a fast pace and immediately drew me in
... more. I could connect with the main character, Sera, right away and found myself cheering for her right away. I especially enjoyed the world building. It was a terrific balance of our reality into a parallel fantastical existence. The small touches of history along with a few mechanisms reminding of the steampunk genre, rounded it off nicely. The plot was fast paced the entire way through with a great blend of danger, friendship and romance. I can definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys YA fantasy romance. less

ends a bit abruptly but not a terrible trilogy if you need a quick read.
