review 1: Very eye-opening into the real world of American politics. Corruption is at an all time high but the author gave me hope for the future at the end by pointing out millenials, my generation, may be able to change everything for the better and turn the country around. The best part about this was that it was based on FACT, rather than just pure opinion. I'd consider it a must read to anyone living in America.
review 2: The author served as a Republican staff member for for John Kasich and later for Judd Gregg, and as a defense budget analyst for the House and Senate Budget Committees. The members for whom he worked were an increasingly rare species--moderate, pragmatic, non-crazy Republicans. He chronicles the rise of the lunatic Republicans, including their fant... moreasies, lies, and absurdities. He also demonstrates that the Democrats are no better, feeding from the same trough of Wall Street and the plutocrats. He makes very good suggestions for solving the problem, though he does point out that it requires and educated, critically thinking electorate. Fat Chance!If nothing else, it is absolutely clear that whatever the Founders may have intended, the sole, overriding purpose of the United States of America is that the rich in this country shall get richer and richer, and that a government of the rich, by the rich, and for the rich shall not perish from this earth. All else, terrorism, abortion, gay marriage, all other social issues, etc., is just entertainment to divert the base while the rich get richer. You're all screwed. less
