review 1: I randomly picked up this book while browsing through the just returned items. Surprisingly, although I usually can't bare to read anything that's so out there, I loved every bit of this story. It's funny and ridiculous and so imaginative. I believe it's Mike Resnick's character development and great dialogue in conjunction with his lucid writing style that got me hooked. Anyhow, I think it's such an entertaining piece of work and I'm definitely going to follow up on the series.
review 2: Not sure why others are rating this book/series so low. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it is Steampunk though "Weird West" is a sort of American twist on the genre. One thing that really caught my attention with this series is how well Resnick nails the personalities of the main cha... moreracters, even including a brief bio sketch of them at the end of each volume. If you're looking for adventure, Resnick's Weird West is a good place to be. less
