review 1: Gripping tale of a sheltered young woman who gets wrapped up in her wealthy college roommate's family while spending a summer at their compound. At times, it felt like Beverly-Whittemore didn't quite know what to do with her characters--there were a lot of interesting issues raised that were never pursued. And without giving away plot points, I'm not sure the resolutions she found rang true with me. The pacing and intrigue kept me reading, though.
review 2: The book is interesting. It is really slow and hard to really get involved with it until at least half way through. I was debating putting it down as I crept up on halfway through the book with nothing too gripping happening yet. I am glad I didn't! The last third of the book really escalates and brings to
... more light some questions that popped up throughout the book. As a whole, it's good. The beginning was bland,, then end was amazing. I could see this turning into a movie! less

Totally entertaining and easy to gobble up, if you can apply that verb to a book.
