review 1: Meh. The characters weren't very likeable (I understand they aren't really supposed to be, but I should be rooting for them by the end right? I just wasn't.), the plot seemed melodramatic. And the ending? Man, how the characters got there could have been way more interesting to read than the events of the book itself. In the end, I felt like I had just read a better written novelization of a ridiculous soap opera or reality show about young, rich socialites.
review 2: If you are looking for a good page turning beach read - this is a perfect. I wouldn't say it's the best book in the world, but the writing was very good and it was a definite page turner. The main character annoyed me however, which is the reason I am giving it 3 stars vs 4 - there are some very
... more improbable things that happen and the main character was BEYOND needy. Despite all of that though, the family summer lake/beach retreat and story line really make it a perfect summer read. less

A quick, juicy read, but the absurdity is out of hand. Trashy and fun, but have low expectations.

A good "beach read" on a rainy winter weekend, with several twists and turns up until the end.
