review 1: Any book that has me counting how many pages remain in the same way I might count how many shirts are still to be ironed, can't really get more than 1 or 2 stars. I will give this 3 because the afterword confirms that many of the characters in the book and associated events are historically factual. Sadly, for me, this seemed more like a comic strip adventure that had gone on far too long than an eye-opening account of colonialism and power in India.
