review 1: 4.5 Stars for the girl who is stronger than she looks and the man who falls for herBirdie hasn't had a person to lean on in her life. She's been through a lot of things and believed that she had to do certain things just to make it through. Then her circumstances begin to change and she meets some unlikely friends who show her that her life doesn't have to continue on the way that it has been. Cyrus doesn't do relationships. Three times and you're done. You'll get the best sex of your life, but then you're on your way. Then he meets Birdie and she gets to him, she is under his skin. He feels a need to protect her and take care of her. When she goes missing he hunts for her, which he can't believe he does. I have to say that in this book, while I loved Cyrus, I actua... morelly loved Birdie more. I loved watching how she grew, how she learned to lean on how people, how she helped Cyrus and interacted with the family. There was something truly endearing about her and I think I could have loved Cyrus more if I knew more about him. I wanted to dig just a little deeper into him, but after thinking about it I wonder if that was the intent of the author. To focus more on the female character instead of the male. At any rate, I digress, I would still absolutely recommend this book to my friends, it made me smile and I read it in just a few hours. I cannot wait to pick up book 3!!!
review 2: I am absolutely diggin this series. I fucking love these men. Cyrus, oh Cyrus…. I loved him, then I hated him, then I loved him some more. He will frustrate the hell out of you and then have you droppin your panties with the quickness.He has a rule. The 3 times rule. You don’t hit it no more than 3 times. That’s it. Done. No coming back for fourths. But what happens when you want more? Cyrus fights it. Boy does he fight it. He struggles with his feelings for Tara. He feels protective of her and wants to take care of her. But he doesn’t want to let her in.Tara struggles with some of her emotions too. She’s had it rough and finds herself in an unhealthy relationship. Cyrus steps up for her and wants to keep her safe. I loved this story. I devoured this story in one sitting and read ‘til the very end because it had me totally consumed. The emotions Cyrus and Tara went through were sad, heartbreaking, sweet and absolutely sexy as hell. Well, that’s no surprise from a Steel man. I love how protective Cyrus was over Tara. And even though he was extremely frustrating, Tara was a fighter. And I loved that Cyrus was able to help her more with her confidence. He made her feel sexier and confident. MJ Fields does it again with this amazing sexy and steamy story with the perfect amount of drama, emotion, frustration and amazing sex to keep you hooked from the start. less
