review 1: When I read the prequel novella Forever Steel I was convinced this series would be a bit too much...over-the-top sexcapades, nasty girls, crude boys and a lifestyle that screamed irresponsible. Now that I have read Jase's book, I have changed my opinion somewhat...this one was full of a sweet and at times funny and for sure hot as hell love story with a great family vibe from all sides.Carly was the cousin of Jase's friend Abe and was spending the summer visiting her dad when she catches the eye of the bad-boy tattoo artist and agrees to "fake date" him for whatever time she has left. It seemed like a silly arrangement, but made for some steamy foreplay that started off innocent and ended with massive sexual frustration on both sides. Complicating things are a jealous ex-g... moreirlfriend, disapproval by Abe and Carly's brother who thinks Jase is a scumbag, bi-coastal living situations and a whole lot of family drama and secrets that are being kept hidden.I really liked them together with the exception of some really childish behavior (from both of them) that screamed to me they were not ready for a relationship...too much back and forth. The last few chapters were very "fairytale HEA" and yet it made me happy to see them settle down and try to join their families together.Now I'm on to the next book, Jase and Carly's novella where I hope they make it work!**** 4 **** "turning the fake into real love" stars
review 2: FRUSTRATION!!! Jase you are one fine man but you are so frustrating that I wanted to scream. OMG!!!!! I still love you though. You are the perfect tatted bad boy for the first half, well not quite half, of the book. I was so into you and then you are the biggest dick I have ever read! Carly you have your own issues and insecurities but, I do feel that Jase was just a big dick. I did love the story though. I was so caught up in it and felt so many emotions. Well written to bring me to this point. At times I hated this book but overall I am in love. Jase maybe a big dick most of this book but, DAMN is he hot! I still love him and Carly and I think most of you will too. No one is perfect and Jase is no exception. I am so excited for more of this bad boy and his sweet girl! less
