Welcome to my blog!

What a better way to start this new adventure than welcoming you all?

My passion for reading started as I was very young, but the truth is that most of the books I’ve read until now were written in Spanish, which is my mother tongue. Nevertheless, I have also read some books in English and German, as it was compulsory during my studies on Translation and Interpreting, but as many of the books I read are borrowed by friends or family, they are rarely written on anything but Spanish.

So now, my main focus is reading as many books in English as possible and letting you know my thoughts on them, while being recommended by this big and amazing community which ones are worth the lecture. There are plenty of amazing books that never get translated into Spanish, and I am willing to discover them.

This journey will start with “The Inner Circle”, by Brad Meltzer, a Bestseller first published in America in 2011 I have been recommended. I started the book a couple of days ago, and I must say it captured me from the very beginning. It looks exciting and full of intrigues, so I am looking forward to let you know my thoughts on it!

For now, you can find a brief synopsis here:

Beecher White, a young archivist for the US government, has always been the keeper of other people’s stories, never a part of the story himself… until now.

While Beecher is showing Clementine Kaye, his first childhood crush, around the National Archives, they accidentally uncover a priceless artefact – a two-hundred-year-old dictionary once belonging to George Washington. Suddenly Beecher and Clementine are entangled in a web of conspiracy and murder.

Beecher’s race to learn the truth behind this mysterious treasure will lead to a code that conceals a disturbing secret from the nation’s founding. A secret that some believe is worth killing for.

Have you already read it? What did you think about?
