review 1: This is a lovely, heart-felt story. The sadness of the characters is palpable, yet beautiful as you can feel the love and happiness they had. M.J. O'Shea does an excellent job with the short story format. With the bit of back story and memories, I got to know the characters in a short time and their story was moving. While the end is not a traditional HEA, I thought it was a "natural" resolution. Definitely an author I will keep reading. (And the story is a freebie - amazing.)
review 2: No, no, no. I'm so not happy with this story. I was hopeful -- I like angels, even if the guardian angel was a dead lover -- but he messed up big time. When a guardian angel encourages his surviving lover to stay in the past, there's something seriously wrong with that sit
... moreuation. No, I suspect he didn't do it on purpose, but it still happened. Instead of cuddling with the man every night, and giving hints about who he is, the angel should've been encouraging him to heal and move on.So, because the angel (and the surviving lover) clings to the past neither one of them could have back, his surviving lover back slides instead of heals. The angel has to kill him to resolve the story. Kill him! I'm sorry, but this is romance, so I expect at least an attempt at character and/or relationship growth. To just give up... not a story for me. less

A short, heart-tugging tale of true love. May require keeping tissues handy when reading.

Very sweet, emotional story similar to the Cupid/Psyche myth. =)

A bit morbid. But quite an emotional read.
