review 1: The small size of this novella seems a bit misleading given the amount of beauty inside. I'm not sure what to call it, perhaps a novella in poem form, but it doesn't matter what to call it. The lines are almost chilling in how perfectly, how quickly, and with how few words such intense images are called up. The exact perfect words seem chosen with meticulous precision, exquisitely ordered. It really is a stunning book.
review 2: Gaudry's "lyrical novella" is beautiful, albeit I find that it many ways it fails to carry momentum while only being probably around 8,000 words. Despite this, there are still harrowing moments of beauty, and the I that speaks constantly disassembles (as the title would implicate), a family not quite accessible. Most interesting is the
... moreintersection of class & womanhood, investigated with an eye toward reality but a refusal to accept the language of the real. less

I enjoyed this book greatly. We Take Me Apart is humanity's grotesque and beautiful truth in verse.

Molly Gaudry's writing always surprises me. I can't wait to see her words in book form.
