review 1: Sweet! Amazing sci-fi plus m-m erotica. There's lots of great sci-fi out there, and lots of m-m erotica, but a high quality combination of both is a rare beast indeed.I would rate this 5 stars, but after all these years, I'm still a snob about pure sci-fi not having low-brow smex in it. Even if it's really amazing man-smex that actually does enhance the story!This is the third book in the series, but chronologically the earliest. Something I didn't know when I read it, so I was peasantly surprised to find the "continuation" of the characters' story in "Victorious Star".
review 2: While technically a prequel to Victorious Star, I'm glad that I read it after. As Victorious Star unfolded, I knew there was a story behind Seht and Ravnos, and it created a bedded ... moreintrigue that built up to reading Lost Star.Not quite as complex as Victorious Star, it's a good read and provides more background pin Moribund. I have not read Fallen Star, so I don't know how that fits into this series (if at all?). less
