review 1: I expected that this book would start 3 years at least after the previous, as the hero appeared in the previous and did not appear married then. But the books are well intertwined and there were no inconsistencies, just a misunderstanding from my side.Like in the previous book, I found that there were a few too many steamy scenes, even if without those the reconciliation might have appeared totally out of reach and unrealistic. What I really enjoyed in this book is that the heroine, who decided to get a divorce, as she realized her husband would never be there for her and that she did not enjoy the type of marriage she deserved and would like to, really matured along the book as well. Bits by bits, along the hero's discoveries, she also realized that she was not blameless ... morein making their marriage the failure it was. That was very nicely done and it helped keeping a balance between husband and wife, as well as hope that it will really work out in the end. This book might irritate some readers, as there were quite many misunderstandings between the couple, most of them deriving from a lack of communication. However it felt really realistic of how a relationship can go downhill, when both partners do not put enough efforts in it, take it too much for granted. And I really enjoyed it.Once again, the resolution came a bit too easily, too quickly, especially compared to the slow previous pace of their discoveries. I did not really believe that trust and confidence could get rebuilt that fast so quickly, after all that happened. And I would also have preferred that there were no life or death situation involved, because it did not change anything and it always makes the book cheaper, in my opinion.
review 2: Gavin has always been afraid of loving anyone because his brother Jacob has always stolen his girlfriends. Even though the has been married to Amandine for 3 years he feels like if he tells her that he loves her that he will lose her too. So he buys her extravagant gifts to try to show her how much he loves her. But that is the last thing she wants. She wants him to TELL her that he loves her. Will he realize what she needs before it is too late and he loses her?I like how all of these books are all tied together but could be read separately. And how you revisit others from previous books and get updates on them also. less

Another disappointing book in this series. It was too predictable for me to even finish.
