The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
review 1: The first several books aren't as good. I don't know - for some reason in the first 3 or 4, the art is totally messed up. Kyon looks especially pathetic. But the visuals get a lot better. By the time you get to, say, 11 or even before that, the illustrations are fantastic. And the plots get better and more organized as well.I can't dislike Haruhi Suzumiya. I've watched the anime, the movie, and am eagerly awaiting the next manga release in English. So, read these books and try to enjoy them. Keep reading. They get a lot better. And even with their somewhat lesser quality, these are funny. Enjoyable :]
review 2: This book's art and pacing is terrible.Kyon looks like a flat-headed mess, Koizumi looks like a smiling moron, Haruhi just isn't Haruhi, and Yuki looks
... morelike an adult that failed to grow out of her teens. Mikuru is the only decent looking character in this manga. The pace is too fast, people most likely would have to have prior knowledge to know what's happening.Go watch the anime or read the light novels. Much, MUCH better than this Haruhi-Suzumiya manga wannabe. I'm a Suzumiya fan too, but I just can't be in love with this book. less
