review 1: I really did try to like this volume, and the other five volumes I bought impulsively. Unfortunately, I've been left disappointed. The only character I can tolerate is Nagato; the rest seem to have no redeeming traits whatsoever, and that especially goes for Haruhi herself. I honestly cannot stand her character.When reading, I found it very difficult to grasp onto what was going on. It all seemed a little too complex, but hey, maybe I'm not the target audience. I do regret purchasing more volumes in the hope that they'd clarify things for me, but at least I can say I gave the series a chance. Not that I should have bothered.
