review 1: I honestly couldn't get anything else done until I finished this book. I loved the writing, the characters, the relationship between the sisters and their celestial family. I'm putting this on the high school reading list this summer and I think it's essentially a coming of age novel, with this theme of shedding who you were to find out who you might become, even if it's terrifying. Everyone should read more Nalo.
review 2: The imagination it took to write a book like this is something so fantastical and out there in, mostly, a good way. There were times when I felt like the book took to long to get to the point and it was a bit silly, but overall I enjoyed the places it took me. There were some things I could have lived without.
