review 1: I picked up this book on the cheap for my kobo. I got about 8 chapters in and didn't like it over much. I bought another book in a series I enjoy so i stopped reading this one for a while. Then i went back to it and I am glad I did. I actually grew tolike the characters and wanted to know how the story ended. I was surprised in the end and the author did her job excellently in keeping me guessing. I have aleady turned around and picked the second book up.
review 2: Allie McMurphy is renovating the hotel her family has owned for generations. She find an old man dead in the second floor utility closet. She is on Mackinac Island. The islanders start to take sides and make Allie's life difficult. As the investigation goes forward motivations are unclear. In tryi... moreng to regain the town's favor with a party another older man is found dead. Is there more than one killer and will it all work out? The fudge recipes look good, but I would leave out the rum or other alcohol present in all the recipes but one. less
