review 1: I went back and forth between Thayer and Hildebrandt when it came to these fun beach reads. Overall I prefer Thayer's books and I found this one to be the one I enjoyed most (maybe because I read it relatively early on in the summer). I really liked the multi-generational voices of the lead characters in the story - Young adult, middle age adult, older adult. I think she did a good job presenting life views from these different perspectives and I found myself liking most of the main characters (minus the sister-in-law/daughter).
