review 1: This was a great debut book !! I really enjoyed it. A tad mushy in places, I suppose but there's nothing wrong with a bit of that from time to time. It begins with a proposal from Adam who assumes it's a formality in cementing his relationship with his girlfriend Sarah. However, the idea clearly terrifies her for some reason and she wants no truck with it. Sarah has secrets and Adam has no clue what but resolves to find out....I did spot some errors and most peculiarly they seemed to mostly come thick 'n' fast nearer the end (70%+) like the editor got bored with paying attention !! "He sighed and went to out into the hallway".....went to what ?? Then the odd apostrophe error and picture used not pictures and realise not realised, had missed from a sentence, dropped speechm... morearks/fullstop, a memorial service was arranged for a Monday but a few pages later it was on a Saturday (oops) and copied and not coped was used. Those aside I'll definitely read another by her when I see one and hope the editor stays awake to finish the job properly next time !!
review 2: I enjoyed this novel, the story of Adam and Sarah who both struggle to come to terms with Sarah's secretive past. The author is English, so at times there are some language and culture reference challenges for American readers, but nothing that got in the way of the story. The main character Adam is likeable enough, but Sarah's character is elusive and distant, which makes it hard for the reader to feel connected to her. The author does a good job of drawing us in to find out what Sarah is hiding and why she won't marry the man she obviously loves. Overall it was an enjoyable book, and I would recommend it less

The book left me feeling empty. The plot was so-so & the characters were predictable.

This is crap. Absolute crap. A twelve year old could have written this.

Good read. Desperately waited for the reason she spurned him. Good end.
