review 1: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! You have GOT to be kidding me. THAT'S the ending? That's the best/worst cliffhanger I've ever read. It's like you just answered the million dollar question on Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and the commercials come on and the ending is postponed for another day times 10 millio... moren. Are you kidding me?????????????Okay, let's see how I can still my beating heart from a metronome pace of 300 to somehow review this book rationally. This book is a celebrity guy and regular girl romance book. Unlike most romance books of the same genre, this book is actually realistic. Kerry Anne's reactions were mirrors of what myself would have done. As nice of a fantasy it is to fall in love and be loved by someone who is rich handsome and famous, the question always remains do you like the person for who they actually are or do you like them for who the media portrays them out to be. Can you trust what you see and what you feel or are your emotions being played with by what others want you to believe in order to profit from your misconceptions? Do you like him because of who he actually is, or do you like him because he's a celebrity? How do you keep yourself from sounding like a groupie but at the same time being true to yourself? How can you be different than everything he's seen so far but not too far away from who you actually are? This book addresses all of these points beautifully such that this is very believable to actually happen in the real world. So on one hand we have this kick ass strong heroine who tries really hard to be herself and define the underlying truth instead of romantic notions in her every day life, which can be somewhat difficult considering that she has the equivalent of Brad Pitt/George Clooney walk into her life.On the other, we have an actor who is realistically manipulated by everyone for profit. He doesn't know if those are near to him have his best interests at heart, or are using him. It's hard to remember who you are when your schedule is being dictated, and between your publicist, your assistant, and the production company, there is no need for you to make any decisions. Jack is a wonderfully realistic flawed character who finds the one jem he never thought he would have in his life. And then you turn the page and find the book ended and you're screaming at the heavens as to why, quickly looking to see if you can find the second book. This book has captured the realism of such a situation perfectly. There are no overly comedic scenes or angst thrown in simply to create drama, just realistic ugliness of the human spirit. Interesting how this reminds me of the two main characters in Twilight.
review 2: When I read there was a cliffhanger at the end of Book 1 I was hesitant to read it, I am not a fan of cliffhangers. Fortunately for me Book 2 was already released so I decided why not. I am so pleased I did because I thoroughly enjoyed it! Halfway through the book I downloaded the second book so I could close one and start the next one immediately.I've read quite a few celebrity romances and this one is up there with the best. Keri-Ann and Jack are a great couple and the secondary characters definitely added to my enjoyment of the book.I highly recommend this series. less
