review 1: It has become clear that NA novels appear to like to sex things up, and sometimes rely only on the readers hormones to keep things interesting. I enjoyed Keri Ann's sassy character, which saved me from giving the book 1 star, I liked how she fought back and wasn't a damsel in distress type of character...hehm **cough** Bella. However the relationship didn't develop and things got steamy as they shared some information about each other but, **sigh** it feels like you can't read one completely captivating New Adult novel without getting like soft porn! The one thing I felt Stephanie Meyer did right was the fact that in the Twilight Series Bella and Edward didn't just go and have crazy sex, and one it did happen it was kept classy. if your a bit younger and maybe looking fo... morer some romantic but not racy book...I wouldn't read Eversea...Hard pass!
review 2: This book definitely took me for one crazy ride! We meet small town girl Keri Ann who has had enough horrible things happen to her that she is sort of closed off and doesn't get out much except work and to hang out with her best friend Jazz. Then there is Jack, the super famous movie star, getting away from everything and nursing a broken heart. On the outside these two would never be together, but once we get to know each of these characters, we realize they were made for each other. I feel for Keri Ann and everything she has to go through with Jack. The situation he has put her in, and the way she feels about him, is just doomed from the beginning. This story is told only from Keri Ann's perspective, so you never really know what is going on through Jack's head, and in some ways I loved this. We felt everything Keri Ann was going through and were always guessing about Jack and his feelings, just like she was. Their friendship/relationship is so up and down at times it will make your head spin, but I loved how they got to know one another and the things Jack did for her.I was definitely thinking things would have turned out different between these two when the secret got out and she told people who she was hanging out with, but how Jack handled it really surprised me, and made me like him even more.I loved how much we got to see Keri Ann grow in this story and how she went from never being in love to having her heart broken. I wanted to cry for her when reading this book. I love Jack and Keri Ann's relationship and really hope they can work it out. I can't wait to read the second book and get more Jack! This book is a quick read that will have you feeling so many emotions you won't know what to do with yourself. I loved Jack and Keri Ann's talks and how he seemed to know what to do to get a rise out of her. This is definitely a sweet book with a lot of angst and emotion, if you're looking for something that will have you on a roller coaster of emotions, this is definitely one to check out! less
