review 1: I am reading a bunch of books illustrated by and/or written by Nathan Hale. I work with his wife and know him by association, and in all those years have never explored his work. I am delighted with what I have discovered so far. I am commenting on this book because I especially liked the adventures of Yellowbelly and his stuffed friend as they go to school. The story is sweet and the illustrations are amazing. I will be visiting a lot of his work in the near future.
review 2: This is a delightful children's picture book. We've read it numerous times to our 15-month-old granddaughter and the adults in the family are still talking about it long after it's been returned to the library. We all cry (in very exaggerated manners) like Yellowbelly when he's missin... moreg Plum, and then our granddaughter says "happy" when we find Plum again. We really wish this was one of many in a series, but it appears to be only one of two published by the very talented and imaginative author, Nathan Hale. Can't wait for more. Every young child should be read this terrific book! (And no, I'm not related to the author or getting paid for this review.) less
