review 1: I love this manga series! It's clean, funny and has really great characters :) I picked up the first one and was hooked pretty quickly! The characters are just sweet and funny.Najika is trying to find her Flan Prince who saved her from drowning and helped her remember the joy of food. Now she's at a special school learning how to use her cooking skills and absolute taste and great memory to make others smile.Currently she is recovering from her friend and crush Sora-Sempai who died in an accident. His brother Daichi has really been a big help, so has her other friend, Akane. They're all shocked however when a new talented cook shows up who looks just like Sora-Sempai! Najika is going head to head with him in several contests. And she's just discovered that he might be her ... moreflan prince!Pros:I love this series :) The characters, as I said are really great. Najika is positive and determined. Plus a great cook! That's another great thing about this manga series. They have a recipe for each chapter and the recipes are located at the back of the book! I've only tried one so far (didn't work so great) but I'm planning to try another one soon! There is a bit of romance but otherwise nothing objectionable in this manga, so far. It's really clean and funny! Very enjoyable and one of my favorites :) I can't wait to get my hands on the next volume!!Cons:There really aren't any :P I really loved it :)
review 2: Kitchen Princess is about a girl named Najika who has an extremely positive an upbeat personality. She has been admitted at Seika Academy’s Special Class because she has a talent in cooking. Through various adventures and mishaps she struggles to find her way along with the help of Daichi and Sora Kitazawa.I read this series on a whim; I was really into cooking at one point. It is cute and fun, just pure enjoyable reading. I was delighted to find out that there are even recipes for what she makes in the back! I am totally going to try them. Najika reminded me a lot of the Fruits Basket character Tohru Honda, having a love of life and everyone/everything around her even though tragedy has clouded her past. Najika is selfless and always that first one to offer a helping hand. I also like how this manga has a direction of where it is going and a direction for the characters to take. They know what path they want to go and what goals they are searching for. It is one of those manga stories that seems to be really inspirational to me and inspires me to go and try to find out what I want to do with my life. less
