review 1: Child's Proof is written well and makes you laugh.I enjoyed the humor, the characters were likable, and the action and romance made it easy to keep on ready. I enjoyed the arguments. I think well played argument scenes in a book can truly bring out the characters and feelings they have either about themselves or the other characters. Prompts to the author.There are a few things that didn't quite fall in to place smoothly though. The police investigation/procedures could have been more precise. I think a little more investigative work in this area would have made Varner an even stronger character.From what I can tell, it looks this is the author's first book. So this is a really good first book. There aren't really any qualities of the book to put you off. It's a good read ... morewith both limited strong language or explicit sex. So if this is what your looking for, you may not find this to your liking. But I say give it a try anyway. You won't be disappointed.
review 2: Victoria Childs hates her job at the Clerks office. One day due to her forgetfulness she finds herself the only witness to a murder and suddenly shes a suspect/witness and her life is out of her control. If you're looking for a book with a story that grabs you and sucks you in this one is for you . The characters are fun, sweet and sparks fly when Dectective Varner hits the scene. If you enjoy books by Gemma Halliday you will definitley enjoy this series by Neeley Bratcher! Don't miss this fun filled comedic murder mystery it's so worth reading and I know I was unable to put in down until the end then had to buy the second book. Hope you enjoy it, I surely did :) less
