review 1: I am a fan of Nevada Barr's tales of Anna Pigeon. This is certainly in keeping with her previous works. Gives the reader a glimpse of how Anna was drawn into working as a ranger in the National Parks. I am a National Parks fan. This book focuses on Lake Powell/Glen Canyon. I enjoyed the description of the area. It is certainly unique. This story follows a pretty straight forward mystery format. It is good visual portrayal and a satisfying comfort read.
review 2: A solid mystery set in Glen Canyon area. I'm not being cliché when I say the setting is one of the characters. The setting is as much an antagonist as the "bad guys." The story has some good twists, enough to keep me guessing to the end.
