review 1: I really liked this book, way more than I was expecting to. Jillian wasn't my favorite character, but she wasn't the kind of teenage lead that I just can't stand. She was pretty snarky, but she kind of grew on me. I would have liked more depth to the characters. I liked the relationship of Jillian and Roxanne, but I still needed more. Especially in the romance department. I liked how Jillian and Ryan had a relationship as best friends first and then became more, but it was just written that way. I didn't SEE it happen. Ryan was very cardboard cut out. He was a good guy but that's it. No depth. We know more about Jake, and that's not the guy she picks. It was a quick and easy read and I enjoyed the different powers. I guess I just wanted more. I will keep read... moreing the series, and hopefully I get the more I'm looking for.
review 2: I wouldn't have called this adventurous, had I been the one naming the book. This is an interesting story, though, especially because Jillian isn't the only one with special powers. She doesn't have to hide, and in fact, makes herself more prone to danger in order to save those she loves- and the world. There will be another book about Jillian, I am sure, and perhaps the link between the two stories will make me like this one more. I didn't dislike it, but it's not one I wanted to rush out and buy. less
