review 1: Review on Romance: FIVE/FIVE. Creative. Beautiful. Vivid. And that’s before the romance. I never watch book trailers, or buy into ads, but I saw this one advertised a couple weeks back and the premise (and cover) was just so interesting I couldn’t stop myself. All I have to say is this book made me crave the ocean. The world was beautiful, the protagonist was real, and the romance between her and her best friend/childhood crush was perfect. What really sold the romance was the tension and the author’s ability to write the perfect kiss. Many times I get let down if characters get together too easily or the romance is not written the right way but all I have to say is bravo. I strongly related to the author’s first-person narration, it felt very real and natural (an... mored a little sarcasm, which I love) and as a book nerd I love being able to feel as though I’m a part of the story. I loved this post-apocalyptic-sea-castle-mountain-city-world and I will be first in line to buy its sequel next year!
review 2: I won Drowned from a First Reads Giveaways and I am beyond thrilled that I was chosen to review this book. It's a story following a young woman, Coe, and her life's journey through a world turned upside down. Following a "society" of people making the best of a water filled life all the while fighting, sometimes to the death, for any piece of dry land. I would recommend this book to any Young Adult Fiction lover who enjoys new approaches to the way a society can function with a little romance sprinkled through the story. less
