review 1: I got this gorgeous little coffee table book as part of Goodreads giveaways. I loved the casual descriptive language that made you experience the writer's day in Paris as if you were there. The photos were great too - not the cliché Eiffel Tower or the Notre Dame, but the type of photos I would've taken. The photographer has really captured the beauty of everyday objects and places, letting the reader engage with the story even more.
review 2: A rare travel book that can really paint a picture with its words and then offer beautiful corresponding photos right at the moment you need them, so you can savor each section without wanting to rush to the next. However, a few of the images were a little busier than I feel fit the otherwise tranquil and whimsical writi... moreng (cluttered architectural shots, or too many people in the photo, etc), but that's really my only complaint. I look forward to seeing more in this series. I agree with the other reviewers that this is best read outside, or at least with some coffee/tea and a nice view. less
