review 1: This book had a very strong beginning - and middle - but was let down immensely by the ending. It was fairly week, fluffy and the strong adventure vibes that were introduced from the start were definitely dropped. Whilst a lot of it was feasible and believable, there was a bit too much hopping on and off planes whilst on a budget to make it feel like the story was something possible. Having said that, I read it until the end (which is something!) so it was worth persevering with if only to find out what happens at the closure.
review 2: This book was a pleasant read but I really felt that the author did not take full comic advantage of some of the situations. Also, his maiden aunt, who is initially described as strange turns out to be really rather evil and I ... morewould have liked to see her get some retribution for her actions. It hasn't made me want to rush out and buy another book by Nick Alexander, but if one was loaned or given to me, I'd give it a go! less
