review 1: This book is a sweet and sad book. Jess is a girl whose aunt has just passed away. She was very close to her aunt and made music with her often on the piano. She inherits a desk from her aunt and finds a glass bottle hidden inside. The glass bottle holds something that can't be described scientifically, but Jess feels a connection to it. Jess's mother gives birth to conjoined twins. Jess notices that the thing inside the glass bottle reacts to one of her brothers.
review 2: Jess is still preoccupied by the death of her beloved great aunt when her mother gives birth to conjoined twins. ... moreical, spiritual themes with Jess's concern over the changes in her best friend Zoe. While I liked some of the writing, Jess remained somewhat of an enigma to me. less
