review 1: This was a great read, i really enjoyed the storyline based around the 12 very different jobs in 12 months and all the adventures Ruby had along the way. The author really brought the characters to life and from the descriptions I built up my own visualisations of them all. I was hoping for the ending that occurred so wasn't disappointed. Will definitely keep a look out for other books by Nicola May.
review 2: This is my second Nicola May book and I have to say I liked it better than the first book I read (Better Together), which I thought should have been titled Better Together?. Working It Out is the story of Ruby Matthews, a young woman in her late twenties who has just been layed off from her job and is on searching for a new one. She is inspired to try o

Ruby's story is supported by many fun characters those she meets through her new placements of work and those in her home community. There is the fun and eccentric old lady Margaret who lives next door to Ruby, George, her other handsome and cute gardener/neighbor. Her brother Sam, her mother, her agency employer, Johnny, her good friend Fi, and of course her long time pet, Patrick, the cat. All these characters and Ruby's quest for the perfect job and hopefully true love all make for a wonderful book. less

I enjoyed this book and how it all turned out, but it was definitely longer than it needed to be!

Very easy, light read. It had a few little twists, so not completely predictable. Enjoyable
