review 1: Shades and shadows of The Arabian Nights and Scheherazade spring into the reader’s mind as they read this tale of the burning sands. The servant girl Jamillah is caught in the royal stables with one of King Achmad’s many horses. There is a long standing band between this beautiful girl and this magnificent and majestic animal. Before Jamillah is apprehended, the king’s son, Prince Zahir calms the horse and seizes the girl. As they look into each other’s eyes, they remember days long past when they were both children and the bond they once felt. This is an eBook designed to enjoy while eating a lunch or waiting to see your doctor or dentist. In other words it is so short that the term novella could be even seen as extravagant. This said, this book and others of its ... moreilk fulfill a need to keep the imagination working. As short as the story was it did take me (for however short) to another place and time. For a relative small investment in time and money this author has opened my eyes and mind to something just a little bit different. My review is almost as long as the book I am reviewing.
review 2: Master’s Thief is a tale about a woman who has loved the prince since childhood, but due to the circumstances of life, she has been forced to watch him from afar. When the prince discovers her—and remembers her—she realizes he’s had feelings for her since their separation. I liked that aspect and enjoyed their interaction before they got down ‘n’ dirty.I liked this book, but there was an incy problem for me. The point of view switches threw me off a bit. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with them—many people like them—it’s just that I’m not used to reading books using this method. I did enjoy the visuals, my favorites being the desert feel, the horse rearing and Jamillah trying to free herself from her bonds.A hot romance but also a sweet read, one that gave me my reading fix in the limited time I had to read it. If you like your heroes dominant but with a dash of sweetness, then this might be the quick-read for you. less
