review 1: ***copy given in exchange for an honest review***"modern knights, made to wade through fire, blood and steel on those growling steeds we rode."I read the book with an open mind having only read other reviews after I had finished and I'm glad I did as I thoroughly enjoyed every page! The premise of this novel is very similar to most MC novels: bad biker club that oversteps that very blurred line of what's acceptable (drug and gun running) meets seriously f**cked up biker club (guns, drugs and unwilling women) and war is declared! The heroine is saved from the Raging Skulls MC after being handed over in a trade by her politician father Rachel finds herself submerged in a while new world. She quickly finds herself accepted into a new family with a purpose in life she had nev... moreer experienced before. Her hero Jack "Throttle" Shields the VP of the Prairie Dogs MC falls hard and fast for her, he also decides to draw a line and stop the rivals club unacceptable business deals. The club goes on lock down as battle lines are drawn and men fall in the line of duty. The story has high drama, violence and death with a HEA but much left to be explored in further books. The only criticism I have is the book feels like it started as a novella but grew into something more. At first it is fast paced without character depth and growth but then develops into more than just a quick disposable read. There is more than meets than eye to these characters and yes they are a little rough round the edges...but they are bikers! In places I was chuckling but still enjoyed the sex scenes and the passion between the characters, even if at the times the dialogue was more suited to another genre. Is this a literary masterpiece? Maybe not but it's escapism for a couple of blissful hours, lose yourself to an easy read and enjoy the ride!
review 2: Originally I was going to give this good a 3.5 star review, but the I realised I couldn't put it down. I started the book thinking this is good. After a few more chapters I realised it was well past my normal bed time and I still wanted to read more. Rachel's father does the unthinkable, and she ends up scared and confused being rescued by Jack (Throttle). Finding a place for herself in a new environment is not easy, but Rachel has no where to go, and no one to turn to but the members of the MC that rescued her. Her dad sold her for a reason, and that reason could be the start of a war between the 2 MC's. less
