review 1: This is a really fun start to the story, written from an honest perspective. As a mixed-race woman, I find reading about life from a black woman's perspective to be very interesting and I appreciate that Ms. Perez doesn't mince words or dance around uncomfortable questions. It's lighthearted when it needs to be, and I was so annoyed when I went to click to the next page and had reached the end! Getting the next one in the series now!
review 2: First part of a contemporary romance series. I really liked the author's voice and her main character, Chloe. I didn't know what to think about Chloe's bff and the issues regarding "reverse racism." It's a setup guaranteed to create conflict between Chloe and her new roomie, a white man. ... moree because Chloe has such a strong voice and personality. I have to mention that there are spaces between paragraph breaks and lots of blank pages between chapters. I'm not sure if that is a formatting mistake or an attempt to make the work seem longer. It's supposedly 93 pages. less
