review 1: This book is not for everyone, and I won't reiterate what others' have said. That being said, I LOVED this book, because It was essentially a text book on psychology woven into a novel. Several story lines allow Mr. Shpancer to expound didactically in a classroom setting, and clinically ( the why behind several different methods of therapy) in his private practice, and also explores his own inner dialogue both as an individual, and as a psychologist. ... morelly be a good book for future psychologists to read, as it covers a lot of psychological theory and technique. The book maintains a clear middle ground between depression and joy, never fully giving in to either. If you have ever been in therapy, "The Good Psychologist" will help you to better understand what your therapist was trying to do. less
