review 1: Married for Christmas is a novella by Noelle Adams. This is the first in the Willow Park series. Jessica Cameron is a web designer who worked out of her house. She was dedicated to her work, although she did eventually want a husband and a family. However, since it has been years since she even had a date, that didn’t seem likely any time soon. She could, however, help out a friend. She just had to propose to him. Daniel is a pastor. He and Jessica have known each other since they were small. She had been there when his wife, Lila had been killed in an accident. Through her efforts, he had managed to come to grips with the loss of his wife. His church was being shut down and there was nothing he could do about it. A couple were divorced and it tore the churc... moreh apart because they were from the two leading family founders. He had put out his application to various churches; but only one seemed interested. It was his home church in Willow Park. If he was married, he was sure to get it; but he wasn’t. Then came Jessica’s solution- marry her.Does he accept her proposal? What are the consequences if they do get married? Can it work out? It is a good book to read.
review 2: 3 sweet stars for Jessica and Daniel in this contemporary romance marriage of convenience story. Religious overtones throughout, as Daniel is a young pastor, but it's kept fairly light and works for the story. I like this trope, marriage for convenience that eventually progresses to love. I did feel the story became bogged down with repetitiveness from Jessica in regards to it not being a real marriage, accepting what she has, etc. A little more communication would have helped immensely, but then I guess there wouldn't be any story. I thought the author did a good job with the characters and describing their confusing emotions. I purchased this book last winter, however it is free right now on amazon. less
