review 1: Originally posted on sarahsbookshelf.com:Nora Roberts is always a favorite author of mine, but I’ve found many of her books of late to be a little formulaic. I had pretty low expectations when I picked up this book, so I was pretty excited when it turned out to be one of my favorites. It’s actually a reissue of an earlier novel titled Remember When, named after the heroine’s store. One of Roberts’s strengths as an author is to really bring you into the story and this book really does that. It’s a really soft Mystery/Suspense novel, but it’s definitely more Romance than anything. One of the main reasons that I liked this story was that the conflict came from outside the couple. These two hit is off pretty well early in the story, so you had a while to get to know... more the two of them as they got to know each other. The mystery really was the element that brought the conflict into the story. Although simple, I thought the mystery element was really interesting and one that Roberts did a great job of writing. This book was published in the early 2000′s, which seems to be when her writing really was at its peak. I’ll have to check out more of her novels from this time because the writing really was excellent. The story was interesting, the characters weren’t like any other books (this must get tough the more you get published, too), and the romance was very genuine.
review 2: I quite enjoy books by Nora Roberts and especially those that she writes as JD Robb. Laine Tavish has tried really hard to put her past behind her but a blast from the past is about to get hit right outside her shop. In between murder and thievery she finds love even though if a guy lied to me about who he was I don't know if I would be so quick to forgive him as fast as Laine did. This book is a quick and easy read. less
