Wolves' Heat
review 1: The plot had an intriguing concept, an alien race, similar to the werewolf paranormal notion, in need of a planet to habit.Everything was fine, technology exchange for the right to habit the earth and then their time of heat came, once every three years (the only time they could reproduce, that way the growing of the population was monitored and it was something that always existed) and everything changed, since the Wolves had a strange reaction to the human scent. All this was well and done but it just failed to raise my interest in continuing with the rest of the books.Ian was like a broken record repeating the same over and over, and we got little information about Graig leaving us with questions that I'm not willing to read two more books in case I found... more out.
review 2: I liked this book, but I'm not willing to give it more then 3 stars because I feel like maybe the idea of mates or true mates should have been explained at some stage. If it was explained that like in regular shifter books you can smell you true mate then it would have been a better book in my opinion. Less confusion all around. The world that Lynne created was great I really enjoyed reading about it. Just wish the relationship was as good as the world building. Frankly, I don't even understand why Ian liked Craig or agreed to mate with him. Again it comes down to not explaining what is a true mate and leaving the reader as confused as Ian. I'll give the other book a go and see whether or not we can clear up some of this confusion. less

It's an edgy romp that plays with the who consenual and non-consensual power dynamics.
